Vitamin C

An ANTIOXIDANT (which helps fight off cancer): "Destroys free radicals inside and outside cells.  Helps in the formation of connective tissue, the healing of wounds and iron absorption, and also helps to prevent bruising and keep gums healthy.  May reduce risk of cataracts, heart disease, and cancer (2)."
"One of the most important antioxidants (1)."

"Food Sources: Peppers, tomatoes, citrus fruits and juices, berries, broccoli, spinach, cabbage, potatoes, mango, papaya (2)."

"It's essential for protein metabolism, production of neurotransmitters and collagen --- a key component of connective tissue. Vitamin C also plays a role in wound healing and helps your body absorb iron. It is the second-most prevalent nutrient in lemons behind potassium, with the juice of one large lemon yielding about 18.6 g of vitamin C. Your body cannot produce vitamin C, so you need to get it from food and beverages such as lemon water (1)."
